| | Re: SCVMM Safe for P2V? Well, I tried my first one in a test environment -- and it worked like a charm! SCVMM is SO much easier to use. A huge step forward, as far as I'm concerned. Setup was a breeze, and P2V was practically a one-click task. I'm ready to roll it out into production -- unfortunately, the server I'd like to install SCVMM on is a 64-bit machine. Does anyone happen to know if SQL 2005 Express will run on Windows 2003 x64? Thanks for the input. | | Re: SCVMM Safe for P2V? Yes, SQL will run on W2K3 x64 (http://www.microsoft.com/sql/edition...s/sysreqs.mspx See the notes section). If you already have a SQL server installed on another server you can use that as your SQL source for the database too. -- Rob McShinsky http://www.virtuallyaware.net "JBradshaw" <jbradsha@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:tZednbJmHY4RYRTVnZ2dnUVZ_v7inZ2d@xxxxxx Quote: > Well, I tried my first one in a test environment -- and it worked like a > charm! | | Re: SCVMM Safe for P2V? I found that using the "Library" part is a bit problematic, especially the fact that you can easily delete a VM from a host if you don't know your way through it. -- Sincerely, Daniel Petri MVP, Senior IT consultant, trainer www.petri.co.il ----------------------------------- "JBradshaw" <jbradsha@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:tZednbJmHY4RYRTVnZ2dnUVZ_v7inZ2d@xxxxxx Quote: > Well, I tried my first one in a test environment -- and it worked like a > charm!
