Virtual machine won't boot from CD...?

I have VS2005 installed and I created a virtual machine. I put a Win2K3
install CD in the physical machine's CD drive, powered up my new virtual
machine and...nothing. it goes to reboot and select proper boot device.
Doesn't even try to hit the disc.

I checked BIOS -- the CD is in the boot order. I checked the physical
drive -- it works fine. I checked the disc -- it's accessible. I
deleted the virtual CD drive and created a new one.

I'm scratchin' my head here -- what am I missing? It's a clean install
all the way around and it's cool to be able to have this virtual machine
but kind of a pain not being able to install an OS to it!

Re: Virtual machine won't boot from CD...?

Did you attach the drive to the Virtual Machine in the VM's settings?

Yup, thought of that one -- In the CD/DVD Drive Properties, under
"Capture" the "Physical CD/DVD drive" box is ticked and the pull down
says, "Drive 'D'" which corresponds to the CD drive on the server.

Disregard -- I tried the only other thing I could think of --> a
different disc. Apparently, there's something wrong with the disc I was
using and/or the virtual system didn't like it. I moved to a different
piece of media and it worked fine. Go figure.
