| | Re: Can i run hyper V on a single harddisk ? Can you run on a single disk? Sure. Is it a good idea? No, not particularly. But for a test machine, certainly. Keep in mind that any virtualization solution puts more load on the I/O subsystem, both disk and networking, than a normal physical computer. The more VMs you have, the more true that is. If you have only a single disk, it becomes your bottleneck very quickly. -- Charlie. http://msmvps.com/blogs/xperts64 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/charlie.russel "IT Staff" <jkklim@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:%23ca8Dm5FJHA.2076@xxxxxx Quote: > Assume a standalone machine, can i run hyper-v on a single harddisk ? > > Shld hyper V itself (the hypervisor) runs on a mirror harddisk ? > > > |

| | Re: Can i run hyper V on a single harddisk ? for demo purposes I even have it running on a dell laptop, no problem. Ok, performance is lousy, but you can show something. But as you say, performance is "sub optimal".<G> I certainly wouldn't spec a non-laptop that way. -- Charlie. http://msmvps.com/blogs/xperts64 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/charlie.russel "Jaap Wesselius [MVP]" <jaapwess@[remove-this].xs4all.nl> wrote in message news:48d93743$0$196$e4fe514c@xxxxxx Quote: > for demo purposes I even have it running on a dell laptop, no problem. > Ok, performance is lousy, but you can show something. > > Cheers > Jaap Wesselius > > > "Charlie Russel - MVP" <charlie@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:ew6lyAAGJHA.3288@xxxxxx Quote: >> Can you run on a single disk?
