Can i run hyper V on a single harddisk ?

Assume a standalone machine, can i run hyper-v on a single harddisk ?

Shld hyper V itself (the hypervisor) runs on a mirror harddisk ?

It's not optimum performance-wise, but yes, it'll work.

It depends on how fault tolerant you need it to be.

Can you run on a single disk? Sure. Is it a good idea? No, not particularly.
But for a test machine, certainly.

Keep in mind that any virtualization solution puts more load on the I/O
subsystem, both disk and networking, than a normal physical computer. The
more VMs you have, the more true that is. If you have only a single disk, it
becomes your bottleneck very quickly.

Re: Can i run hyper V on a single harddisk ?

for demo purposes I even have it running on a dell laptop, no problem.
Ok, performance is lousy, but you can show something.

Re: Can i run hyper V on a single harddisk ?

Yes. But as you say, performance is "sub optimal".<G> I certainly wouldn't
spec a non-laptop that way.
