Hyper-V Won't Start

I have an HP Proliant DL 785 G5 with 146 GB or RAM, 8 quad core opteron
processors (supports hardware virtualization). I have a mirrored set of 72
GB SAS drives for the OS and a striped set of 72 GB SAS drives for Data. I
have installed Server 2008 Ent x64 on the box and added Hyper-V as a role. I
am able to load and view the hyper-v console, I can start the creation of a
virtual instance , but as soon as I try to start the instance to build it it
fails out with an error stating that the hyper visor is not running. All of
the Hyper-V services appear to be running.

Re: Hyper-V Won't Start

Check the bios and make sure VT support is on. (I have a Dell server and it
shipped with virtualization technology (VT) turned off in the BIOS. Turn it
on (may have to do cold/hard boot) and HyperV should work since you have the
role enabled.)

Re: Hyper-V Won't Start

Make sure that DEP (Data Execution Prevention) is enabled in BIOS too.
