Do i need to activate Windows 2008 Enterprise 64 bit after hyper-v works ?

I've not worked with hyper-v yet, but i am making a *guess* on the
installation

a) install 64 bit 2008 enterprise version
b) install hyper-v , make bios aware of hypevisor mode, etc etc

For (a), do i need to activate the license key since hyper-v is hypversor
and not operating system dependent ?

I don't know what you mean by "hyper-v is hypversor and not operating
system dependent" but just installing the Hyper-V role does not mean that
you no longer need to activate the operating system, so yes, you do need to
activate.

You install server 2008 x64 and activate it. That is it. Hyper-V is just a
role on that server. It does not have a separate product key.
