RE: what tool to use to convert p2v ?

I used true image echo server to create an ISO image. it has a function after
you create it to convert the iso to a vhd. Then set up new virtual PC and
attach the VHD to it. It re-installs the HAL but worked fine for me!

Yes, use System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM). It has a P2V tool
built right in! The soon-to-be released version will fully support Hyper-V
images. The current one handles Virtual Server/PC images quite well (you
could always convert these into Hyper-V images afterward).

Hope this helps,
