| | 2008 hyper-V recovery to different hardware I have set up a simple Hyper-v server and added various virtual PC's with physical domain access. All works great! Used Acronis True Image server to create image of Server. I have used Universal restore to move this to different hardware (disaster recovery test) the system boots and virtual PC's are there but no virtual network. The v network configuration link just generates an error. I think it's probably the same as changing the NIC! I only see the 2 physical NIC's in Windows networking not the usual third Virtual one. how do I get the virtual networking back? |

| | Re: 2008 hyper-V recovery to different hardware How many NICs have you added in the VM configuration settings? How many do you see inside the VM device Manager. In case of missing device drivers, install the integration components through the HV Manager Console Hope this helps! -- Kurt Roggen [BE] http://trycatch.be/blogs/roggenk "Guyzzzz" <Guyzzzz@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:353F0789-33E7-47EE-84E8-2822D2D45E92@xxxxxx Quote: >I have set up a simple Hyper-v server and added various virtual PC's with > physical domain access. | | Re: 2008 hyper-V recovery to different hardware Virtual network manager link was not working. This was due to ghost network adapters from the original server. we got rid of these using subinacl script to delete them from registry. Then removed the Hyper-v role and added it again. Then we could get into virtual Network manager to configure the new adapters. Virtual PC's needed the new adapter selecting too. This all worked fine but does seem a bit of a long winded way to do it. Any better ways would be apreciated!
