ISCSI SAN / fiber san

Does iscsi san work with hyper-v ? Or must it be a pure fiber san ?

If iscsi san work, what is the minimum entry level for HP model ?

Re: ISCSI SAN / fiber san

iSCSI SANs work fine with Hyper-V. There is no minimum level that I'm aware
of, but you should plan on having the iSCSI adapter be dedicated purely to
iSCSI, not shared with other tasks.

Re: ISCSI SAN / fiber san

Hyper-V works with everything that looks like local storage.
Both iscsi SAN, FC SAN are supported.
Even storing VMs on NAS or CIFS/SMB file share works. Not a best practice,
but works.

Have a look at Jose Barreto Blog at
http://blogs.technet.com/josebda/arc...r-storage.aspx

Hope this helps!

I built a SAN using iSCSI and a failover cluster running Hyper-V. It's
pretty easy really. If you would like to read about my experiences:
