| | Exporting a VM This is probably a stupid question, but why should I change now? I am using Server 2008 with Hyper-V and have no problem creating and using VMs. I would like to export my VMs to another location, but I can't find a way to do so. I use Server Manager/Hyper-V Manager and there is a Import item in the Action Pane, but no Export. Can someone tell me where to look for the Export facility. Thanks, Tom -- ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe MB AMD Athlon 64 X2 CPU 4800+ 4GB RAM nVidia GeForce 8500 GT Video 250 GB SATA II hard drive Pinnacle PCTV 7010iX TV Tuner |

| | Re: Exporting a VM Tom, You can also simply move the VHD and recreate the handful of parameters for the VM configuration as well. Sometimes this can be faster / more straight-forward than exporting/importing (unless you have snapshots, etc.). | | Re: Exporting a VM Ryan, Thanks for the info. I had already discovered the "create a new VM with the old VHD" trick. Charlie told me about shutting down the VM before exporting it. And I agree that the number of snapshots is probably the governing condition.
