| | Whats the use of KB 951634 (Integration Comp.) compared to KB 950050? I do wonder what's the use of patch KB951634 compared to KB950050. You will see this if you install the integration components on WS 2008 x64 instead of installing/slipstreaming the Hyper-V-RTM-patch, the well-know KB950050. So: can anyone tell me: a) Is there *any* difference between KB951634 and KB950050? b) Why does MS use this different HotfixId? c) Why can I install both of them? d) To MS: Why does the standard-url not work: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/95163 Thorsten |

With the beta versions, you had to install the the full Hyper-V patch on to the vm to install the integration components. With the RTM version this is no longer necessary. You can simply install the ICs into the guest OS. You only need to install KB950050 on the host machine |

So why do I have to patch the child partition in that complicated manner, if I could simply click on the action button. My customers want me to explain, if they may or may not use the IC. Thanks for your support, Bill. Thorsten |
