Can't read physical CD without rebooting host

Hi All,

I'm running MS Virtual Server 2005 on a Vista SP1 host.

Switching to (or between isos) works as expected and the VMs can read the CD
image.

But when I switch from an iso back to a physical drive or change the CD in
the drive, none of the VMs are able to read the CD.

It doesn't matter if the guest OS is running, or just trying to boot the VM
from the CD - Still can't read it.

rebooting the Host fixes the problem, and the VMs are able to read the CD
drive again, until I make another change.

Anyone know what's going wrong?

Are you releasing and then recapturing the CD from the CD/DVD menu? If
not, release the old CD before you insert the new one.

What do you mean by release the CD?

In the CD/DVD Drive properties, if I change it to no media, and then back to
the physical drive, same problem - the VM does not recognise it. If I change
it to an ISO, then it works fine.
