Vista - Clients erroring out when contacting WSUS Server -- they just happen to be syprepped VHDs.

We work with a sysprepped image of a standard workstation for testing in our
environment. The image is a MS Virtual Machine and it is built somewhat
small but large enough to handle a shortterm testing scenario. Although, I
don't feel like it is a virtualization issue.

Here is the issue I am having with WSUS. I need a way to completely reset
the image and force a detection. Below I will list the efforts I have made
from searching this newsgroup, its syndications and the internet.

The client does not detect updates and has errors in the WU log file. I have
tried a number of tricks to get the client to reset but none seem to work
consistently. The log file I will paste is after running the following in a
BAT file:

Additionally, I have rejoined the workstation to the domain as well as
completely disjoined it, deleted the workstation account, allow replication
and then join it. I have also tried the aforementioned method with deleting
the WSUS config settings in the registry and the policies which configure it
and then a GPUPDATE /FORCE. At this point I am just reaching for a fix. I
have also verified I can connect to the ROOT\DEFAULT using the WBEMTEST
without error.

The only thing that seems to work most often is to let it sit there for a
couple of days. Could my server be too busy to respond (0x80072ee2)? I'm
sure you can understand that time does not allow me to start a test
environment and let it sit there for a few days.

At any rate, the workstation immediately communicates with the WSUS server,
but until a few days pass, it will remain in the NOT YET REPORTED status on
the WSUS server with a SOAP error in the log file.

Please help me troubleshoot through this that happens everytime I use one of
my VHD images.
