| | Losing rights to "Shared Virtual Networks" directory Hi all, I run various VMs under a domain user account ("VMRun") set up specifically for the purpose. The VMRun user has Modify/Write rights at the VM directory level, and Read rights on C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Shared Virtual Networks. Occasionally the VMRun user loses the Read rights on Shared Virtual Networks. This of course gives network errors, with the virtual NIC visible but not accessible - "An unexpected error has occurred" when trying to get to Properties. This is accompanied by an Event 1059 on the host machine. After adding back the Read rights on Shared Virtual Networks, and rebooting the VM, everything is OK again. Anyone else seen this? Know what the cause is? There are other users from the same domain with read rights on the same directory, those rights are untouched. Only the rights given to the VMRun user disappear. Thanks Pete |
