Forcing the use of a network connection

In my host Hyper-V servers I have two Ethernet controllers and I would like
to have one used exclusively by the host and to have the other one used
exclusively by the virtual machines. However, the host server is using both
of them and seems to prefer the one the VMs use. Is there any way to limit
the use of an Ethernet controller?

Re: Forcing the use of a network connection

Disabling TCP on that NIC for the host would mean it can't use it at
all, but I think that's what you're looking for.

Just open the connection properties and uncheck TCP/IP and the host
wont be able to use it. I don't know your set up on the NIC's, so
it's possible it might break your routing, but it should be fixable...

Re: Forcing the use of a network connection

Robert,

Thanks, that did it. There was a momentary sinking feeling when RDP
disconnected after disabling TCP on the adaptor, but the automatic
reconnection worked and I am in business again.
