| | HyperV Manager with SmartCard Using the console interface provided by HyperV Manager does not seem to provide SmartCard sharing like RDP. Is there some way to configure this to work using HyperV Manager? In RDP, the setting is under Local Resources > More > SmartCards. My fingers are crossed for a registry setting! I suggest this to be enabled by default to make it easier on the high-security industries. ![]() Thanks! -- Jasont80 |

| | Re: HyperV Manager with SmartCard So far as I'm aware, there is no way to do this from the console app. You'd need to use RDP to do it. -- Charlie. http://msmvps.com/blogs/xperts64 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/charlie.russel "JasonT80" <JasonT80@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:C06D1A6C-A27D-49B0-95B7-023B9A82EAC2@xxxxxx Quote: > Using the console interface provided by HyperV Manager does not seem to > provide SmartCard sharing like RDP. | | Re: HyperV Manager with SmartCard Thanks Charlie! How can I turn this into a suggestion to Microsoft? I just tested VPC, VMRC and VMRC+; each with the same result. Banking, DoD and others need this (VMWare has it through USB emulation of a SmartCard reader). Thanks again! -- Jasont80 "Charlie Russel - MVP" wrote: Quote: > So far as I'm aware, there is no way to do this from the console app. You'd > need to use RDP to do it. > > -- > Charlie. > http://msmvps.com/blogs/xperts64 > http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/charlie.russel > > "JasonT80" <JasonT80@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:C06D1A6C-A27D-49B0-95B7-023B9A82EAC2@xxxxxx Quote: > > Using the console interface provided by HyperV Manager does not seem to > > provide SmartCard sharing like RDP. | | Re: HyperV Manager with SmartCard There are workarounds to get USB into Hyper-V. Products such as USB over Network, which I've reviewed on my blog and like. MS knows we want USB support. When we'll get it is something they have made zero comment on. -- Charlie. http://msmvps.com/blogs/xperts64 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/charlie.russel "JasonT80" <JasonT80@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:0904EB13-8052-4516-9745-9E5A04719BFF@xxxxxx Quote: > Thanks Charlie! > > How can I turn this into a suggestion to Microsoft?
