I hope you have resolved the problem with the http error 404 in the Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1.

I was having the same issue and after 2 hours of researching I found out this microsoft site that resolved my problem.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/840191

it has to do with URLSCAN.ini that prevents the execution of .EXE Files on IIS websites.

As the main url site is .../VirtualServer/VSWebApp.exe?view=1
which is a .exe file.
