Vista - Hyper-V snapshot problem

Hyper-V snapshot problem

When I view the VM in the Hyper-V manager, it says I have no snapshots

When I choose 'settings' on the VM, it says I can't make changes because
there are snapshots active. And looking at the raw disks I see lots of
snapshot files.

How can I make Hyper-V 'see' the snapshots that are clearly there?

B

Re: Hyper-V snapshot problem

Did you re-create the VM at some point (using the existing VHD file)?

Re: Hyper-V snapshot problem

Um, maybe? I got the vhd file from a different system and setup a new VM
on this system

But that was a while ago...

Re: Hyper-V snapshot problem

If the snaps were taken from the previous setup, you would need to export
and re-import the VM to get the snaps registered properly (as I understand
things).

Hope this helps,

Re: Hyper-V snapshot problem

there were no snaps on the previous setup, it wasn't even hyper-v

I am hoping when I power down the VM it will merge everything

Thanks for your insight
Blake

Re: Hyper-V snapshot problem

When I powered the virt system down for maintenance it merged the disks
together (I HAD a snapshot, but had deleted it)

All is well

Thanks
Blake
