| | How do I restart the guest OS after a shut-down? After I shut-down the guest (W2k3) OS, I can't get VS2005 R2 to restart the guest OS. What am I missing here? TIA |

Hmm, not running VS any more, but if I remember correctly, you simply right click the VM in the admin console, and select Start. -- Charlie. http://msmvps.com/blogs/xperts64 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/charlie.russel "dj" <dj@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:EDAF9059-39D5-4E77-BCDD-149C564D2CC5@xxxxxx Quote: > After I shut-down the guest (W2k3) OS, I can't get VS2005 R2 to restart > the > guest OS. | | Re: How do I restart the guest OS after a shut-down? The OS on the VM should see that as a power one event. IME, that causes it to boot and load the OS. -- Charlie. http://msmvps.com/blogs/xperts64 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/charlie.russel "dj" <dj@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:63236070-0BCF-476E-ACE9-39D99BED7F74@xxxxxx Quote: > That's how to start the VM, but do you start the stopped/shut-down guest > OS > on the VM? > > "Charlie Russel - MVP" wrote: > Quote: >> Hmm, not running VS any more, but if I remember correctly, you simply >> right >> click the VM in the admin console, and select Start. >> >> -- >> Charlie. >> http://msmvps.com/blogs/xperts64 >> http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/charlie.russel >> >> "dj" <dj@xxxxxx> wrote in message >> news:EDAF9059-39D5-4E77-BCDD-149C564D2CC5@xxxxxx Quote: >> > After I shut-down the guest (W2k3) OS, I can't get VS2005 R2 to restart >> > the >> > guest OS. | | Re: How do I restart the guest OS after a shut-down? Good point. For some reason, on my system, the VM would start but the guest OS would not. My searches failed to find any references to this situation, leading me to belive it's an isolated case, probably a configuration issue as I'm a VS novice. Have you ever encountered this?
