| | Unable to install Virtual Guest Services on virtual machine I've tried this every way I can figure out to, yet I get the same end result: Error (13233) Unable to install Virtual Guest Services on virtual machine Vista. The Hyper-V Integration Services setup exited with error code 60001. Recommended Action For more information, refer to the Hyper-V documentation for virtual machine integration services at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=118036 and then try the operation again. The link doesn't go anywhere helpful. This happens on all of my converted VMware machines. It also happens on all new machines I have created from scratch. I've also tried using the "pre-built" virtual disks that are created when SCVMM is installed and again get the same error. Strange thing is, this seemed to not be an issue with the first VM's that were converted, and nothing was changed on the Hyper-V host server. Any help is greatly appreciated. |

| | Re: Unable to install Virtual Guest Services on virtual machine I would make sure the VMware tools were not installed before trying to install Virtual Guest Services. hth DDS "Marc Medina" <MarcMedina@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:88891D7F-D5A6-4A9F-8324-ECD113617FCA@xxxxxx Quote: > I've tried this every way I can figure out to, yet I get the same end > result: > > Error (13233) > Unable to install Virtual Guest Services on virtual machine Vista. | | Re: Unable to install Virtual Guest Services on virtual machine They were installed on the machines that DID convert easily, and as I said, even brand new disks can't install the tools - that's the biggest problem. I could re-create the environments from scratch, but can't get the tools in. Thanks for the suggestion though. | | Re: Unable to install Virtual Guest Services on virtual machine Hi Charlie, SP1 level of what? This is on any OS I've tried, Vista, Win 2003 Server, XPSP2/3 - just creating a blank disc gives an error that the tools can't be installed. I just tried creating a new machine again from scratch. Step 1.6 "Install VM Components" failed - red circle with an X. Marc "Charlie Russel - MVP" wrote: Quote: > Are the VMs involved all at the SP1 level? | | Re: Unable to install Virtual Guest Services on virtual machine Sorry, your original one was a vista machine, and I "assumed" Hyper-V. Bad assumption on my part, and I can't really help with Virtual Server. I honestly haven't run it in the last year - I've been pure Hyper-V for at least that long. -- Charlie. http://msmvps.com/blogs/xperts64 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/charlie.russel "Marc Medina" <MarcMedina@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B2915B34-1FD0-415A-8C78-127871B84DB2@xxxxxx Quote: > Hi Charlie, > SP1 level of what?
