Licensing Questions

Hi All,

I am looking into the possibility of using Windows Server 2008 and
Hyper-V on a new project and I have a few licensing questions.

I want to install Windows 2008 on the host server. Then install 2x
Windows 2003 guest servers.
The host server will not be used for anything else but to host the
guest servers.

What are my licensing options for this setup?
I have looked all over the microsoft site but cannot see the answer.

Regards,

RE: Licensing Questions

I remember reading from microsoft
website(http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/h...alization.mspx),
that you are allowed one free license for your VM if you are using 2008
standard. so, if you are using 2008 standard as host, your first virtual os
is free regardless of what version you are using. for the next additional
license, you still need to buy the appropriate license just as you would with
physical server.

enterprise 2008, 4 free guess os. datacenter, unlimited.

with VS2005, you are allowed 4 free guess os.
that's what i understand.
anybody correct me if i'm wrong.
