How to Create VHD image

My Virtual Server 2005 R2 only has a CD drive, not a DVD drive.

I am trying to create a Vista image from a Vista DVD (subscription
advantage).

Is there some way to create the new VM by pointing it to a network resource
as its boot drive? Or do I need to create an .iso something or other? Or
what is the best way to do this?

Thanks

The easiest and fastest way to install an OS is from an ISO image. Pop your
Vista DVD into a DVD drive, create an ISO, copy it to your virtual server,
mount it into the guest, boot, and install.
