W2K must be already at SP4 before you install them too... -- Bob Comer On Tue, 23 Dec 2008 13:37:41 -0500, "Blake" <blake.duffey@xxxxxx> wrote: Quote: >I have migrated a Windows 2000 Server (running SQL Server 2000) onto my >Hyper-V system. It was on a different virtual server solution before, so I have been wondering if it has legacy drivers or something. If not, that's likely the problem. All the VM addins, tools, etc add hooks into the OS. If you don't remove them they'll cause problems down the road. You usually need to remove them on the native VM app before migration to a new VM solution. -- Cheers, Steve Jain, Virtual Machine MVP http://vpc.essjae.com/ |

| | Re: Windows 2000 Server poor performance under Hyper-V Is very possible. it was running under KVM under linux and I used a trial version of SCVMM to do an offline p2v migration (I know technically it wasn't a p2v migration, but the software didn't seem to care) I have disabled the AV, that has helped a lot. I'll be moving off this VM shortly.
