Can you change the computer name of the Host machine?

Is it possible to change the computer name of the host machine name on a
Hyper-V system? We have been using Hyper-V for several weeks but wish to
change the host computer name. Will this affect the virtual machines we have
already created?

Thanks in advance

I honestly don't know, I haven't tried it. But I can't see why not, nor do I
see any major consequences if there's a problem - just change the name back.
If you're domain joined, I see an even smaller chance that it's an issue.

Backup/export your VMs just in case, worst case it will be as though
you're migrating the VMs to a new host.

That being said I can't imagine any problems here, although there is a
remote chance you'll need to re-add the hard drives, I don't really know
how the NTFS permissions are generated for Hyper-V hard drives.
