Hyper-V VM Pagefile

I am running Hyper-V in a 4 node cluster. Is it possible / advantageous to
offload the pagefile for each vm to either the host or to another disk to
try and speed up performance?

Regards

Re: Hyper-V VM Pagefile

To another disk, possibly...to the host, not so much. :-> Treat your VM
architecture decisions no differently than you would when considering
physical servers and their purposes.

Re: Hyper-V VM Pagefile

Thanks for the reply Ryan.

So if i offloaded the pagefile to a seperate disk, as im in a failover
cluster would i have to have a seperate pagefile disk/LUN for each VM. In
which case each VM would then have 2 LUNS. Would the pagefile LUN then have
a dependancy on the original VM LUN?

While i agree it would be best to treat the VM no differently to a physical,
im trying short term measures to speed up a slow virtual environment while
we increase the backend storage (i.e more disks / spindles).

Regards

Re: Hyper-V VM Pagefile

That is correct; again, just like you'd do in a physical server.
