| | Re: Hyper-v - windows 2008 gui 64 bit - what other roles to add Backup isn't a role - it's a feature. You need it, or a backup solution. Which is your choice. Overall, you should add as few additional components as possible to a Hyper-V parent. Personally, I add only Backup and PowerShell. -- Charlie. http://msmvps.com/blogs/xperts64 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/charlie.russel "IT Staff" <jkklim@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:%233ycF9rdJHA.1532@xxxxxx Quote: > I've installed the hyper-v role. > > What other roles should i add to make the machine robust ? | | Re: Hyper-v - windows 2008 gui 64 bit - what other roles to add That's the beauty of the Windows Server 2008 model. You only install / add the roles/features you need or want - no more, no less. As Charlie mentions, you'll probably want to address some sort of backup capability...perhaps the Hyper-V VSS writer with Windows Server Backup...
