Hyper-v - windows 2008 gui 64 bit - what other roles to add

I've installed the hyper-v role.

What other roles should i add to make the machine robust ? Eg should i add
backup role too ?

Backup isn't a role - it's a feature. You need it, or a backup solution.
Which is your choice.

Overall, you should add as few additional components as possible to a
Hyper-V parent. Personally, I add only Backup and PowerShell.

That's the beauty of the Windows Server 2008 model. You only install / add
the roles/features you need or want - no more, no less. As Charlie
mentions, you'll probably want to address some sort of backup
capability...perhaps the Hyper-V VSS writer with Windows Server Backup...
