| | Memory on Windows 2003 Standard/VS I understandand that Windows 2003 Standard only allows 4gb of Ram. I was just wondering that if only 4gb is allocated to the host would I still be able to use the remaining ram for my Virtual Servers or would I have to upgrade to Windows 2003 Enterprise on the host before I can allocate the remaining ram? Thanks ICTuser |

| | Re: Memory on Windows 2003 Standard/VS Virtual Server wont be able to see the RAM if the host operating system doesn't, so yes, you'd need Enterprise to use more than 4G. -- Bob Comer On Thu, 15 Jan 2009 07:58:02 -0800 (PST), ICT User <ictuser2002@xxxxxx> wrote: Quote: >I understandand that Windows 2003 Standard only allows 4gb of Ram. | | Re: Memory on Windows 2003 Standard/VS Or Windows Server 2003 x64 Standard Edition. The 64-bit Standard will see 32 GB of RAM. Of course, the OP's processor and environments will need to support 64-bit. -- Charlie. http://msmvps.com/blogs/xperts64 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/charlie.russel "Robert Comer" <bobcomer-removeme-@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:gknum4lp5hduilpm5oee6napfariejlssu@xxxxxx Quote: > Virtual Server wont be able to see the RAM if the host operating > system doesn't, so yes, you'd need Enterprise to use more than 4G. > > -- > Bob Comer > > > On Thu, 15 Jan 2009 07:58:02 -0800 (PST), ICT User > <ictuser2002@xxxxxx> wrote: > Quote: >>I understandand that Windows 2003 Standard only allows 4gb of Ram.
