Virtual server cannot see host cd player

I have a problem with my virtual server 2005 R2 installation not being able
to see the host's (windows xp sp2) cd\dvd rom drive. Consequently I cannot
directly install any guest OSs. Does anyone have any ideas, I'm sure this
is something really simple.

Regards Mike

Have you gone under the CD/DVD settings for the VM and captured the
physical CD?

If you change the setting to "no media captured" hit apply, then
select the CD/DVD to capture and hit apply does it capture it?

Try making an ISO image of the disk and mount that. ISOs are usually
less troublesome than physical discs.
