| Vista Ultimate x32 | Hyper-V Networking "doesn't work" - the fix If you are having connectivity issues on your External Hyper-V network such that only one host can communicate at any given time - then check for port-security on the physical switch that your host is using with the Hyper-V virtual switch. I researched this issue for some time with most answers and documentation simply stating that you need to define an External network. But my Cisco switch had port-security enabled so that only one MAC address could use the port. I'm sure other managed switches will have similiar features. According to the network engineer that installed that switch, this was the Cisco default configuration - something I've not seen before as default. I'm posting this because I hope I can help someone else. There's another post here, with similar subject but multiple responses. At the bottom was the answer that resolved an issue I'd worked with for two weeks. Maybe I can make it easy for someone else. |
