Just had the same problem, was causing a big hooplah out here. Restarting the VS was a no go, as was deleting the settings and restoring with the vhd.

Someone recommended restarting the host, and that will work.

BUT, it is waaay easier to just restart the Virtual Machine service.

Worked like a charm.
