| | Hardware Monitoring with Hyper-V? Still being a Newbie to Hyper-V I wonder if there is a concept on hardware monitoring. I need Hyper-V (without Windows Server 2008) to send e-mails whenever critical events are added to the event log (like RAID malfunction). While trying to Google for information I learned about System Center Operations Manager. But this is a client software. My server, however, will run unattended. Is there any solution in Hyper-V providing for this functionality? Any help is appreciated! Axel Dahmen www.axeldahmen.de |

| | Re: Hardware Monitoring with Hyper-V? None directly in Hyper-V - but there are tools out there for emailing event logs. I use a gadget that shows event logs on the desktop: http://mumblingtomyself.spaces.live....A64!1005.entry Cheers, Benjamin Armstrong =========================== Senior Program Manager Lead Windows Virtualization Blog: http://blogs.msdn.com/Virtual_PC_Guy Book: http://tinyurl.com/ysxcbm This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. | | Re: Hardware Monitoring with Hyper-V? You are somewhat mistaken on SCOM. It is a client-server solution for systems monitoring. There is a client application that you use to check on monitoring. If you want "lights out" management, tie it into SCVMM and enable all the PRO tips. -- Geoff N.
