If you have a single DC, and it's a child VM on the same physical box as the
parent, then you really don't want the parent to be domain joined. It can
get messy.

If you have a second DC, and it's on a different physical box? Domain
joined, for sure.

Thanks Charlie! My setup:

Main DC = server1
Backup DC = server2
Hyper-v host server = server3

Each server is a physical box, so I am guessing with my configuration I will
be fine with it on the domain.

easier.
