Disabling Creation of Service Connections Points in AD

I have Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 installed on my local computer, strictly
for use by me for development and testing of software configuations. My
local computer is part of my company's AD domain.

Every day, when I start my computer, I receive an Event ID 1136 error,
because I cannot create a SCP in AD. I do not want, nor do I need, to create
a SCP in AD.

Is there a way on my local computer to disable the creation of SCPs (i.e.,
tell VS not to even try)? If not, could you please submit this as an
enhancement request for a future version?

Thank you.

RE: Disabling Creation of Service Connections Points in AD

Jeffrey,

I have seen this error on two different occasions:

1. If Virtual Server is installed on a domain controller
2. If Virtual Server was installed on a machine that was disconnected from
the Active Directory Domain at the time of the install.

In both situations it was stated by Microsoft that it can be ignored and
that it won't cause any problems. It was once said that there aren't any
plans to correct it, but I haven't seen similar issues since the release of
Hyper-V.
