Make a copy of the .vhd. Boot from the copy and uninstall the virtual
machine additions. Move the copy to the Hyper-V server. Create a virtual
machine in Hyper-V that has similar specifications to the virtual machine in
VS 2005. You may need to use a legacy network adapter depending on the guest
OS. Point the virtual machine to the .vhd you copied over. Make sure you
have an ISO or other installation media available for the guest OS at the
same service pack level. Boot the vm. If the guest is Windows a new HAL may
be installed and you'll be asked to reboot. Do it. If it's Windows XP don't
allow the installation of new hardware just yet. Install the virtual machine
additions. Reboot when/if requested. You can now change the NIC to
integrated and clean up any hardware or network settings that got messed up.
