| | RE: vmware, citrix or windows? Valuable information: 32bit Microsoft virtualization is in performance terms, roughly equal to 32bit VMware. Unavoidable Rant: It appears to me as if Microsoft has chosen to ignore MILLIONS OF PAYING CUSTOMERS with 32bit processors, of which it can be easily guessed that HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS may be using 32bit virtualization. While I have become a fan of Windows 7, the (IMHO) horrible decision to forgo support for Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 Enterprise, as literally FORCED me to look at VMware. I have since WASTED 30+ HOURS OF MY LIFE that I will never get back on this subject. To summarize what I have learned: 32bit Microsoft virtualization is in performance terms, roughly equal to 32bit VMware. I haven’t taken the plunge as of yet, however I am seriously considering ABANDONING MICROSOFT AS MICROSOFT HAS ABANDONED US in this regard. Still, I will probably WASTE ANOTHER HOUR OR SO trying in vain to make a Microsoft product work on a Microsoft platform. As I see it, it’s a slippery slope that I would avoid, you know, first VMware, then oh what the he** why not go all the way to Linux? Microsoft can consider this the loss of yet another one more “evangelist”. "John Doe" wrote: Quote: > Which is the best solution for mailserver and webserver? > > Thanks > |
