w7 vm and DVD problem

I assigned F: DVD-ram rw to the W7VM but the W7 only has Microsoft
cd/DVD/rom driver and found no device to burn ISO image. what I can do to
fix the problem?

Re: w7 vm and DVD problem

VPC and Virtual server only emulate a DVD or CDROM reader, so you
can't burn from inside a VM.

I wonder if this is still true for a USB attached burner? I haven't
gotten around to testing yet.

Re: w7 vm and DVD problem

I haven't tried it either. It probably should work if you attach it
as a USB device rather than using the shared drive options..

Re: w7 vm and DVD problem

The same for Hyper-V. (even worse actually, no USB support for a USB
CDRW drive.)

Re: w7 vm and DVD problem

Hmmm, yes. But using FabulaTech for USB should work around the problem
equally well. You know, I hadn't even considered that use for it, since I
don't currently have any USB DVD drives. But I might just see if I can
scrounge one up to try it.
