Fixed vhd Paused Critical

I have a fixed vhd that is close to the size of the partition. Recently the
server was paused-critical and I had to move the Virtual Machine directory
to another partition. I'm not running snapshots and the snapshot directory
was empty but was also moved to another partition so, there is nothing but
the vhd file on the partition. I now have 8 GB of free space on the
partition containing the vhd and I'm wondering why is this happening and is
8 GB enough free space for what ever is causing this?

Re: Fixed vhd Paused Critical

No one else knows of this problem?

I am no longer thinking that my fixed vhd is changing size but rather the
free space is changing. Even after moving the virtual machine to another
partition, leaving only the vhd, my free space is still changing size but I
can create more free space if I delete the oldest shadow copies. So, maybe
this is a VSS issue and not a fixed vhd issue? If so, how much free space
should I leave if I have a seperate partition for the vhd file?
