Free diskspace needed when deleting snaphots

    Hi,
I have a VM that has 3 .avhd files totaling 74GB disk space. The actual C
drive vhd is 70GB in size.
I will shutdown the VM so it can merge and remove the large avhd files but
Hyper-V Server's disk this VM is on has only 26GB free disk space.

Do I need to have free space at least the size of the avhd files?

I'm not sure 26GB is enough or I need to add 50GB more free space before
starting the merging of the VM.

Will this hyper-v server run out of disk space if I start the merging for
    the VM?

    Thanks in advance...

    Hi Artunc,

not 100% sure here but just from the merge process perspective I don't think
Hyper-V need the double amount of space for merging the disks.

    Thanks Ramazan,
Last year I had to merge/delete another avhd and I remember the free disk
space kept getting smaller and the file kept getting bigger.

I had plently of free diskspace then and I don't remember how big it got
    before removing the avhd files.

It definitely use some extra disk space but I'm not sure how much, I don't
want to run out disk space and freeze all the other VMs.
