Right click 'Computer' and select Properties. In the Activation section of
the resulting dialog, you should the status and a link to activate.

Re: vista activation

I have a new HP Pavilion Notebook. I chose automatic activation and had no
problems. However, when I check my activation, although Windows is activated
the Product ID is 20 characters and does not match the Product Key on the
label. Should I change the product key to the one on the label or leave it
alone?

Re: vista activation

The product key on the label is for the install. The product key on the
diaglog is your registration key. That is for if you need to call Microsoft
for support. You don't need to change anything.

Re: vista activation

When Activating Vista by phone, you are asked if Vista is used on more than one PC, Numbers from your computer etc. You are not asked your name, just ID numbers by pressing them in the keypad. Very easy to do, just follow the automated message.
