Full administrative rights

As the sole user of my home pc, I wish to have full administrative rights.
How do I do this?

The biggest problem with XP and security was that an administrative user had full and unrestricted access to the entire system, which is why XP had so many security related problems such as viruses and malware.

In Vista, an defaults administrator accounts is something inbetween a limited user and a full admin. Even if you are the sole user on the PC, this is the recommended way of working, especially if you're connected to the 'net.

Some would say you could turn of UAC, but I do not recommend that, as it would result in a system even less secure than XP was.

If the UAC prompts are getting you down, I'll admit that they are annoying in the beginning, but they will appear less often the more you use your system.

RE: Full administrative rights

Adding to Harry's post:

Being secure is nice and well, but:
due to the forementioned problem, i cannot delete a preinstalled trial
versions of an internet security system.
Because there is this new trial version installed i am not able to install
an older version that my company has user rights for.
so as normal administrator there is no way to uninstall the trial version of
the security software and therefore i cannot have security software???

This way I am for sure not more secure than without this UAC

I think this system is not optimal yet...
