| | Cannot access a directory or file I have a 32 bit VISTA which does not allow access to a directory/file. Whenever I try to access the directory it says "Access denied"' The directory is MY PICTURES. What am i TO DO? It is not file dependent since several types are involved incl jpg & mov. |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Cannot access a directory or file It sounds like you may have ran into the files called "Junction Points" or "Reparse Points". These files cannot be modified or accessed by the user by default. These are not really folders or files, but just relay points to the actual file. They include all the "My ...." folders. You can read more about these here: NTFS reparse point - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia For "My Pictures", you will need to look at "C:\Users\(your username)\Pictures" for the actual folder.
