| | Startmenu lock/log off suggestion My computer in a home computer and is used by a number of people each day. We use "log off" about 4 times a day never use the "lock computer" button. I would like to be able to change the function of the "lock computer" button to be a "log off" button. On the whole i'm pretty impressed with Vista but this shutdown area of the startmenu feels like a user interface booch up. Vista is much much better setup (in my opinion) for separate user accounts than xp was, yet the option to logoff has been relegated to the back bench/seat warming/little arrow drop down list. I just don't understand the logic. The option to change the function of the "lock computer" button would be a great addition to be included in SP1 (hint hint). ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. | | Re: Startmenu lock/log off suggestion Jaips I don't think there is a way to change that button to log off. The easiest work around for this is to simply press CTRL+ALT+DEL which will give you a menu with all of those options. -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User "Jaips" <Jaips@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:E293E95D-C4BD-4115-BC44-B7244D4CDC0D@xxxxxx Quote: > My computer in a home computer and is used by a number of people each day. > We > use "log off" about 4 times a day never use the "lock computer" button. > > I would like to be able to change the function of the "lock computer" > button > to be a "log off" button. > > > On the whole i'm pretty impressed with Vista but this shutdown area of the > startmenu feels like a user interface booch up.
