| | RE: administrator cant log on! help I would like to hear from Microsoft experts on how to enable the system administrator on Vista, Home. I have tried to all the suggestions I can from google searches and so far, nothing resolves the problem. It began when I tried to log into my work site using citrix, web-based and cannot get past the SS error 61. I have downloaded the correct client from citirx, ver 10.150 for 64bit Vista. I adjusted a few security settings, but as I say I cannot go further without help from the big boss 'Microsoft'. One user wrote that it is because Vista Home disables the system administrator and sure as shooting, there is and administrator account but it is DISABLED. Giving administrative rights to a 'user' apparently does not give all rights as in XP. As a techie who is very familiar with XP, I am dismayed that as a Vista Home user, I cannot be trusted on my own laptop to become a true administrator..... talk about tight security..... we ought to know how to enable and logon as the system administrator. Tell Bill, I will assume responsibility for security issues on my OWN laptop and to please help me with this. Windows Vista Community: Discussion Groups You can use Method Two in this tutorial and just use the Built-in Administrator account to do what you want. If your sister cannot logon because of a password issue, then this will show you how to reset it so she can logon to it again as well. Reset User Account Password Hope this helps you, Shawn |
