can't log into XPpro machine from Vista

Hello & thank you for your time.

I have a home network with one desktop with XP Pro, and two Vista Home
laptops. I can see every computer on the network, and I can log into vista
laptops, but when I try to log in into XPdesktop from Vista laptops, it tells
me that my user name or password are incorrect. I can log from XPdesktop to
my laptops, but the laptops can't log into my XPdesktop

On windows xp welcome login screen, my user id is Owner, and password is
123. I even tried to create a new user (admin) account on XPdesktop with
user name jjj and password jjj, but when I try to login from laptops, I still
get an error message telling me the user name or password is incorrect.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thank you,
Martin

use VNC it is a free program. My understanding was that vista did not allow
you to rdp into xp, I had this problemover the summer so I put vnc on my xp
computer and it worked.

You can RDP into XP from Vista but, off the top of my head, you need to update the RDP client on the XP machine first.
