Problem with Vista and a 2000 domain.

Morning,

I'm the network admin and I installed vista business onto my laptop to
troubleshoot any issues i'll be running into when and if i start rolling
vista out on my workstations.

I've got 2 problems with an idea where they are coming from but looking for
some help. I did a fresh install and found little trouble right off. But
once I connected to the domain (and rebooted a couple hours later) I've found
2 issues.

1. My laptop will not sync with my mobile phone using windows mobile device
center. I created a relationship to it after I joined the domain, but before
the restart.

2. I cannot ping anything on my network. Like the first case I could after
joinning but before the restart. ERROR Transmit Failed error code 5

My belief is that when the group/domain policy pushed down to the
workstation it caused the errors. But going through the policy I don't see
what if could be. Of Course i'm logged onto my laptop as domain admin.

Any suggestion would be most helpful, thanks.
