| Newbie Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Devastating "administrator account" problem Hi there. My name is John and I am running Vista Ultimate 64-bit edition. I'm terribly sorry if this isn't in the right place but I am desperate to find a fix to this devastating problem. I am the only user on my computer. I am the administrator. I have UAC disabled. When running certain programs however I get a message telling me that I need to be Administrator to run this program. It has happened a couple of times but I haven't really paid attention to it due to it being resolved automatically or me not really caring. I try the "run as administrator" option, but it doesn't change anything. |

Try running it with UAC turned on and with "Run as Administrator" selected. Shawn |

| Guest | Re: Devastating "administrator account" problem Windows vista does that on some programs I have to right click on it then run it as Admin. that is the way vista runs programs that need admin rights even if you are logged in as admin. -- george301 Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |

Do you have a tab button, could be flashing, for the UAC prompt to select on the taskbar? It may be just be hidden behind another window. Shawn | ||||||||||||
