| Guest | Parental Controls My daughter has an account on my computer and I was looking through the parental controls, making sure she wasn't going on anything innappropriate and I saw she'd gotten onto Myspace. Well, I clicked on teh like and it said, 'Invalid Request user id is invalid.' Can someone tell me what that means and how to go around it so I can see my my daughter was on? Thanks for all your help, Ash |

| Guest | RE: Parental Controls Hi Ash, Apologies, but the text from my previous post didn't appear. Here it is. From your post, I assume that you have 'Parental Controls' activated. If you have, then it is fairly easy to prevent your daughter from accessing this site, and indeed others which you deem to be unsuitable. To do this, open 'Parental Controls' by clicking the start orb, typing 'parental controls' in the search box and pressing enter. Note that you will need to provide administrative credentials. Next, click on the account that you want to change, in this case, your daughter's. Ensure that the radio button next to 'On, enforce current settings' is checked. Under the 'Windows Settings' section, click on 'Windows Vista Web Filter'. By default, the only options checked on this page are 'Block some websites or content' and a web restriction level of 'Medium'. Leave all settings as they are. What you need to do is to click on 'To control access to specific websites, add the website to the Allow and block list'. In the 'Website address' box, type in the address of the site that you want blocking, in your case 'http://www.myspace.com' and then click the 'Block' tab. The name of the website will then appear under 'Blocked websites:'. Should you need to remove the site from this list then highlight it and click 'Remove'. If you want tighter control, then enter website addresses of sites that you want to ALLOW your daughter to visit and click on 'Allow'. If you then check the box next to 'Only Allow websites which are on the allow list' then your daughter will only be able to visit sites that you have deemed suitable. Please note that you should ensure that your daughter has no access to your account as if she has she can remove any restrictions that you have applied. If in doubt, change your password.
