| | User Logon Just starting to look at Vista, but one thing that I haven't figured out is how to change the login. In XP Pro, if you went to user accts in control panel, you could choose to change the way users log on and log off, that way it didn't come up with the list of users on the machine, but worked like a domain login where you had to input your username and password. I can't figure out how to change this on a stand alone Vista machine. I don't want the list of users, I just want to hit ctrl-alt-del and get a sign on screen where I input the username and password. Is this possible, and how/where do I make this change? Again, it is Vista Ultimate. Thanks for your time. |

| | RE: User Logon I'm not sure, but I think you ask for this: In Start>Run you write: "control userpasswords2" (without qoutes) It runs with administratorrights. The program, it opens, is "C:\Windows\System32\Netplwiz.exe" -- BirgerH "Johnnycat" wrote: Quote: > Just starting to look at Vista, but one thing that I haven't figured out is > how to change the login. Secure CTRL+ALT+DELETE Logon This will show you how to do the logon with username and password instead of just selecting a user icon and entering a password. Logon with Username and Password Shawn |

Where can I get this information? Yes, it will work for both the 32 bit and 64 bit Vista. Not sure why you cannot click on the links to get to the site, but here are the nonactive links. Just copy them into the address bar in IE7 and remove the space after http: http: //www.vistax64.com/tutorials/89812-logon-username-password.html http: //www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67728-secure-ctrl-alt-delete-logon.html Shawn |
