| | Rename user profile My new laptop failed to reboot after the local IT guy unsuccessfully tried to install a printer driver. I had a Microsoft agent reinstall Windows Vista. He also managed to save my data, but now the computer refers to everything as Noname. I renamed the user account, but that didn't change the profile name. I added a new administrator account to get around the problem of not being able to rename the profile while the account was open, but that's didn't solve the problem. Is ere a straightforward way to change the profile name. |

| | Re: Rename user profile Unfortunately, no. Once the profile folder is created, you're stuck with it. You could create a new logon with a name you prefer and use the EasyTransfer tool to move files, documents and settings to the new profile, then delete the old one. -- Richard G.
