| | Cannot Start I think i messed with system32 or something by mistake, and when i start an error message claims that some file in system32, uxtheme.dll, is not compatible, which I messed with to change my theme. It seems to be working (brings to log in screen), but the message keeps popping up. Once i get it away long enough to log in, a black screen comes up and it never finishes. The message tells me to reinstall the file, but i cannot get on to do this. Is it possible to do a system restore through cmd, which I can get open, or reformat in some way? I did not get a disk to reformat with my computer, but it is on warranty. What should I do? thanks (not sure what section to put this in, or if i should talk to asus about it instead of windows) |

| | RE: Cannot Start You will have to make a reinstall from the CD. Try first a repair - it would'nt destroy anything else on the disk - a total reinstall will format the disk. To start from the CD you have to change the BIOS settings for the first bootdevice. To enter BIOS, use the <Del> while system boots up. -- BirgerH "jack" wrote: Quote: > I think i messed with system32 or something by mistake, and when i start an > error message claims that some file in system32, uxtheme.dll, is not > compatible, which I messed with to change my theme.
