| Vista Home Premium | Can't log on to windows, HELP!!!!! I have two user accounts and no passwords for either one of them work. I have tried every possible password and still it doesn't work. I have tried reinstalling Vista but it appears that the CD-ROM is not working because it doesn't read any of the cd's that I put in. If I try to log on as administrator it says that the account has been disabled. What should I do? Please help!! ![]() P.S. I do have the cd that came with my Vista and I tried the password that was "supposed" to be my password but it tells me that it is incorrect. |

| | RE: Can't log on to windows, HELP!!!!! Hi Dzavolica. Theres a lot of logon issues to Windows Vista - aren't you getting an error message. If you are, try to make a search on Microft support using that message. Regarding to the not-working CD-rom drive. I had that failure - The System BIOS did read in the drive, Windows didn't. Here is a solution on that http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060/en-us If you still want to reinstall Windows, start your computer and go to the System BIOS (normally using the "Del" during startup). In BIOS you change the first bootdevice to be the cd-rom. You have to be sure, the BIOS had accepted the CD-rom, otherwise you are in trouble - that means a new CD-rom - and then you start up again, this will start windows installation to run from the CD. And then have a good luck with a week reinstalling. -- BirgerH "Dzavolica" wrote: Quote: > > I have two user accounts and no passwords for either one of them work. | Vista Home Premium | Re: Can't log on to windows, HELP!!!!! I am not getting an error msg. When I put the CD in the CD-Rom, the CD doesn't start, the laptop just starts normally and takes me to the logon window. As for my passwords I don't know if I tried everything but I tried going into the Safe Mode and still it asks for the password. If I try to sign in to the Administrator account it says that the account has been disabled. Is there some other option that I can try to recover the password or to Boot from the CD? Thank you! | | Re: Can't log on to windows, HELP!!!!! Hi Dzavolica. When you start up with a CD, you have to enter a key when asked for - otherwise it starts up normally from "the second boot device" But the only reason for starting up with the CD is reinstalling Windows. Before you do this, read some of the questions and answers about Passwords on this fora. There is no way, you can get in without restoring your password. I know Microsoft do have another opinion, but for "One-users" I had always adviced not using password and do automatic logon. Most of the users here having passwordproblems are the only users and laptops have seldom more - just never leave it. - ![]() -- BirgerH "Dzavolica" wrote: Quote: > > I am not getting an error msg.
